Hi everyone... I have a 2000 Carrera 4 and as far as I'm aware, it's in good nick!

Took it for a drive earlier today and I pushed it upwards of 4000 revs. Immediately after doing this two lights came on in the dash... one showing the PSM has been disabled, and one for the ABS. I tried turning the PSM on using the button in the centre console but the it was not making any difference. I couldn't feel any difference in handling, etc either.

Shortly after, I turned off the engine and turned it back on and the lights were not on and all back to normal in the dash. The lights never came on again.

i thought I'd try pushing the rev counter up again later on tonight and the same thing happened with the lights in the dash..

Is this normal? Some kind of feature that disables driver assistance or am I looking at something more sinister?

Any help appreciated! Thanks

My first thought is that its not normal at all. I have 996 TT and no lights come on unless something is wrong or I turn them on no matter what rpm..

A quick call to an OPC service centre would answer the question, not that you have to take it there of course?

Sounnds like you spun a wheel enough to trigger the ABS fault light. See if it comes back, I'm betting it won't until the next hooligan session!

Hehehe.. I tried it again today but lights remained off... You may be right tr7v8. The roads were a little damp from some rain yeterday. Dash was behaving itself today on dry surface. We'll see next hooligan session, as you put it! :)

Many thanks for the responses... feeling less likely to have a heart attack now! ;)

I'd of thought water/dirt in the ABS sensor may have been a likely suspect..
