I note a faint smell of petrol fairly frequently in the cabin. I don't see any leaks under the car or any other symptoms. Is there a vapour lock in the tank that gets blocked or another reason why vapour may get inside the car?

Simon, could be dodgy seal on the filler cap, or porous hose somewhere. It needs checking out as it'll evaporate off quite quickly but if it gets worse then it could be dangerous.

PS Haven't seen you at a club meet recently :o

Thanks Jim - only seems to be when the tank is not full, hence the vapour theory. She's going into Paragon next week so will ask Mick to take a look. Also good call on the fuel cap seal - I have another cap so will swap them & see if it makes a difference.

Putting the original Porsche filler cap seemed to solve the problem

For reference; I had the same but the remedy was a fuel pipe that had come loose from a filter (fuel / charcoal?) in the battery area.

10 mins at OPC to fix.

Thanks
