Picked up my new motor at the weekend, its an early 997 C2 in Silver with Blue leather interior. After driving it some over the weekend I can say I am impressed, time will tell whether it was the right choice of course, I had a 987 2.7 Boxster before and liked that, this has a very different feel to it :thumbleft: .

Legroom is great, handling is different, it seems to have a little more character about it, the V50 has a stablemate.....shirley has recently bought an XC90!!!! and it's silver! so thats 3 silver cars on the driveway and one lonely white Copen.

The handling will be different. Be careful on the bends - all the weight's over the back wheels.
IMHO, much better 'driver's' experience, although it'll be more refined than my SC I still think you'll like it.

Pretty much my initial impression, heavy back end with good traction, steering is relatively light, it is surprisingly nimble, I like the feel, I'll have to turn the psm off to get a real feel for it (if I dare). I will miss the Boxster roof down motoring in the summer but it has at least got a sunroof.

My steering's light too, so nothing's changed much. Fill the fuel tank up.
Try it without PSM soon, or you'll get so used to it handling with it on you may get a surprise when off.
What does it sound like? The Boxster's pretty quiet.
Errrm, what summer? Every time I've seen you with the roof down, you looked like a bleedin' eskimo, LOL.

Graham,

Summer was just a dream I had, a vision of open top motoring in the South of France or Italy, the reality over here is not so endearing.

The 997 is louder than the Boxster, especially over 4.5K, but not immensely, a sports exhaust could be an option in the future.
