New to the 997 forum, looking to purchase a 997, I have a budget of £30k which seems to be sat in the middle of the range, not quite enough for a series 2 car but enough for an older car with lower miles. I know I want a coupe and manual, would prefer a 4S, I have seen a few 4S models at £30k with sub 50,000 miles on the clock in dealers but these are older models (2006), is this about the right level in the market place at the moment or should I be aiming for a newer model with higher mileage?

There are a lot to choose from but I would like to purchase sooner rather than spend 3-6 months looking for a perfect combination (whatever that means).

Thanks

An interesting question, if it was me I would be upping my budget and buying a gen 2. Plenty of them about in the £35k bracket with lowish miles.

That said there is nothing much wrong with the Gen 1, other than the known issues which are still exaggerated and random.

Keep us posted with how you get on.

Dove House have a Gen 2 61000 miles £32k

Thanks Sean. I do have some flexibility in my budget. I'll take a look now.

Thanks, what other independents would you recommend?

911 Virgins
RSJ
Maundrells
JZM
Dovehoues (although they don't seem to have any manuals in my range)

Who else should I look at?

Had a 44 turbo and briefly owned a convertible turbo.

J

I am unsure why you would discount the PDK, its just as much much fun nailing the change on a paddle.

Most of the Independents are good.
