Hi folks, very new to Porsche ownership having just put a deposit down on a 997 turbo cab.
Chatting to the sales guy he informed us that it was not possible to raise the rear quarter windows while the roof is down. Is this correct? We were just looking for ways to reduce the wind buffeting.

There is a way to do it by keeping the micro switch that operates the rear windows engaged.

The wind deflector is very good and you should find that sufficient.

Great car, some pics would be good.

Thanks Sean, the car is being prepped before we take delivery as a couple of things were picked up. When we take delivery I will post some pictures up. It is silver currently but will be wrapped to add some colour.

My 996 didn't raise so I purchased a plug in black box called a smartop.
It gave one touch operation to the roof along with allowing the rear windows to be raised with the roof down.
A quick look seems they still do them for quite a few cars and porsches.
Easy DIY fix.

In my 997 C4S cab there is a switch below the window switches, this allows the rear quarters to be raised. As Sean says the wind deflector is good to stop the buffeting.

Hope you enjoy the turbo,

Roof up...they do go down, I just went to try.
