Anyone have the Quicksilver sports exhaust?

I'm just contemplating an upgrade - theres a 12 month old pair on Ebay for £450; not bad considering they are £1200+ new.

Would be good to get an idea as to sound before I commit.

Its either that or a Padkeeper & Motorsound airbox for Christmas!

Generally 993 exhaust "upgrades" are not about the power benefit but about the sound. The standard units are actually pretty good, given we have to live within the "cat" era, probably marginal increases around 10-15 hp at best, so if it's about the noise have a look at what Gert has to offer, and get a chip and map for a bit of zing. Airbox, you won't hear anyway if you mod the exhaust.........no power increase anyway. If you want induction noise drill some holes in the box.....free too!

Thanks Sam,

Yes, I've looked at Gert's product - highly recommended on forums. Thought that if I buy another pair of boxes at least I can keep and return the car to stock easily at any time in the future. Whilst for me it was more about improving the sound, you have got me thinking now as I was considering a Steve Wong chip a while back........

If you pick up a pair of boxes S/hand and send them off to Gert you can always refit your own if you want, and the whole thing is pretty cost effective comparatively? Make sure you get the correct make of box for your car though? There are quite a few guys around that are running Gerts RSR boxes that you could have a listen to before you embark on this route. I am sure that they would be happy to give you a demmo? A tip would be to change all the fixing hardware to A4 stainless at the same time as often the standard ones are pretty ropey.

Take a drive out to Belgium and see Gert, he'll fit the new one while you pop out for lunch.

I've been over twice, great way to spend a day

Thanks. Yes a drive to see Gert would be good, albeit expensive from Devon.

Wifey has offered to buy the Quicksilvers for me for Christmas, so think I might just try them. The seller sent me a video and they sound amazing. Can always go back on Ebay if they're too much and I can go back to stock.

I've just drilled the inlet to outlet tubes on the boxes and welded is SS tubes connecting. Sounds much better !
