Hello one and all,

I was thinking of moving out of my 997 GTS and into a targa 993, JZM have one that has really caught my fancy. My big question is, how would a 993 fare living outside all year? I don't have a garage, so it would live on my drive which is also at an angle, would it likely fill up with water during the rainy season? It would be a fairly regular driver, probably 3-4 days a week. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Will you use a cover? although not a fan myself, it would aid your desire to join the 'elite' Porsche brigade! Sadly the options you describe are probably not the best for targa ownership :(

None of my cars have ever been garaged.
I owned an old Fiat Spider which didn't have the best sealing roof for 10 years and it was still in great condition.

Keep the bodywork clean and waxed. Clean all the areas that can collect mud an crud and clean the underside and inside the arches . Make sure all the seals are in good shape and get new ones if need be

An angled drive isn't the worst as water will drain away rather than sit in puddles underneath. Regular use will also help an outdoor car. Just buy it and enjoy it
