Just a quick question, is it recommended to remove the engine with the transmission or split them prior to dropping the engine? Thanks in advance. |

I've only ever removed the engine and transmission once so not an expert, but when I put it back in I intend to keep them together and would certainly remove them together next time. When removing I ended up with the engine tilted at an angle to the gearbox but still slightly attached so now I'm worried I may have bent the shaft. |

It's unlikely that you have bent the input shaft as they are pretty thick. I have taken the engine out and left the transmission but it all happened a bit quick on final release. I will put back as a whole I think. You live and learn. |

I have taken the engine out twice on its own without any issues. I don't see much point taking the gearbox unless you need too. |
