I have been looking for (ideally) a 3.2 carrera coupe. I am not interested in the Targa, colour is not an issue. It must be a solid body, in good condition. I want it to be original (with original stereo/steering wheel ideally). Mileage is not a huge issue but would require proof of head and gearbox rebuild work if it is reasonably high. G50 prefered but again not fussed with a 915.

I have a good budget for the right car. This is what I'm looking for;

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1986-Porsche- ... 3a692e5448

but as you can see, the description is extremely vague and I don't want to travel 4 hours to see an average example that's priced for top money. I would much rather buy privately from an enthusiast where the car has been looked after and owned by someone that is passionate about the old 911.

Can anyone suggest any lovely examples? I will most likely be attending the southwest meeting on Tuesday (I was sent here by a member of IB).

Any help much appreciated,

Gaz

Dont go on e-bay for a classic 911

Go to pistonheads , there are loads on there all owned by petrolheads

For that price I'd expect the fuch wheels still to be on the car, Mike is right Pistonheads is a good place to start, also have a look at some of the indys, eporsh and northway sometimes have IBs in stock

There will be some dubious 911s up on eBay, but if you keep an eye on it and become expert in assessing that model then you may unearth good ones on there but could be a long wait.

You are very wise to be looking for enthusiast owned car. Sounds a bit old skool these days, but good places to find cars with good owners is of course the club mags. Not wishing to sound disloyal but Porsche Post tends to carry more For Sale, also 911 & PW.
