Whereabouts are you based?

If you are in the North East I can recommend David Raper at Car Tech and Care in Brompton on Swale.

David used to work for JCT 600 OPC in Leeds before working for RedLine Racing and then deciding to set up on his own. He looks after my 968 for the jobs I can't do myself. His rates are pretty good and he gives discount to TIPEC members.

I live in South Buckinghamshire but am often in Middlesbrough and Grimsby for various reasons.

Also, anyone used Porstek in Leeds? I've heard good reports on them.

I have used Autofarm for last 3 services and replacement discs on my Boxster, very happy with them, they have a loan car on a first come basis

Usual disclaimer, just a happy customer

I have used Nelson Porsche to buy seals from in the past when I got my first car, OK price and service but I was unimpressed with the workshop he had a lot of cars in which looked like longterm refurbs and were covered in thick dust etc so I thought I didn't want my car ending up covered like the rest. That was a long time ago so maybe it has improved or it was a bad day, the lad who owned the place seemed knowledgeable about most things Porsche though.

Like Simon said David Raper CarTech and Care would be my choice (and has been a few times) and if you are coming from the South to Middlesbrough and driving you almost pass his workshops off the A1 or easily could.

Hi,

Quite a few indie's in Leeds. I've never used Porstek but heard good things about them. Apparently, the 2 lads who run it used to work for OPC Leeds before setting up on they're own. One of them is fully qualified to service the Carrera GT.

You've also got Strasse as well. Never used them but been on the premises for a visit. Good workshop facilities and knowledgeable staff so far as I could tell.

Pro-Porsche in Brighouse (nr Huddersfield). Never used them but again heard good things.

Carlton Porsche (just outside Leeds) - can highly recommend Carlton. Speak to Steve, he knows his onions (as well as Porsches  ) Fixed price menu servicing, full body shop facilities. Mention my name and he'll know who I am. They do a cheaper labour rate for owners with older Porsches :D (Always a bonus). They also sell 1 or 2 cars as well (Hands off the 993 Carrera 2 though - I'm saving up for that one! )

Hope this helps,

Ben :bounce:

Autofarm have a great reputation. Never heard of the others. Needs to be close to you or when you have a problem it's a big bill to trailer it to the garage.
