I took my car there a few years ago, after another garage had fitted an incorrect Throttle Sensor. We weren't aware of this at the time, but they did some diagnostics and said the ECU had to be sent up to ivybridge for further testing. A couple of days Oakdens phoned me and told me I needed a new ECU which would be more than £500. I took it down to the dealership and after doing similar diagnostics they told me all that was wrong was that the first garage had fitted an incorrect type of throttle sensor. The ECU was absolutely fine. There is no excuse for this!! I have not taken my car there since!

I assume you are happy for this to be visible since you reactivated it. It isn't SPAM as it isn't advertising. It is however naming you. Your call.

Well they have virtually rebuilt my 928 and fixed everything that has ever gone wrong with it over the last 4 years and at very reasonable prices. They are by far the most honest garage that I have dealt with, for when they couldnt find a problem I have not been charged a penny no matter how long they spent on it. I think you may want to turn your attention on whoever they send their ECU's out to. I had a major rich running problem a year or so ago, The ECU was sent off to be checked and declared in perfect order however having spent days on the problem checking fuel flow, wiring, injectors, plugs, various sensors etc we thought it had to be the brain. I sent it to John Speake who found an obscure problem. Got a rebuilt one from him and Everything burst into life. Oakdens didnt charge me a thing. and even waived the tow in charge, new sensors and charge for the original ECU check.
So in conclusion I think they are excellent but maybe the odd person they outsource things to is shall we say, of dubious competence.
