Bought some EBC standard pads for the Alfa, cheaper than everywhere else and 10% discount when you order on line.
The discount is also available for the greens and the reds.

Delivery in 48 hours and they come with a red bedding in coat, that gives you effective braking straight from the off.

Big thanks to Geoff brakemeister Booth for fitting the new pads and discs for me today

Probably see you there Sean!

As an ex-Sud Ti owner from the 80s I've been considering getting a lightly used 159 (crumbs those things lose value fast -
great for used buyers though) as my 'normal' car. have taken test drives in the diesel and 2.2 petrol versions but not entirely convinced yet hence hang round the Alfa forums gleaning info.

Have also spotted some very nice 156s in the approved used scheme...

tbh I think they lost a bit of Alfa-ness going from the 156 to 159, though the latter is meant to have better build quality. It's certainly a lot heavier!

For the very short time I owned the 156 I really liked it. Alfa's do have soul.

We used to use EBC pads on the rear of TZ Yams.

Only because we wanted ones that felt good, but did not work too well

I don't like the EBC's. Found Mintex far superior. (But more money.) They were good for keeping the alloys clean.
Alfa 156 was my favourite fleet car (2 litre twin spark). But they depreciate so fast that there are now no Alfas in the fleet.
I bid on & just missed a couple of 159's. 3 litre v6s. Got lucky with the '44 soon after but it was close. Think the new ones look awesome. Shame there all front wheel drive.

Actually, Alfas are pretty reliable these days... all they are really mechanically is a tarted up Fiat, and their JTD Diesel engine is even fitted to some BMW's too...
