Burt, who rund Total Car Care, finally solved the recent dramas I have had with my Carrera - wiring issue causing air flow meter to burn out.

He found what he was 98% certain the problem was, but to be 100% sure sent it over to Francis Tuthill, who is a friend of his, for a second opinion before spending my money on parts. Car pulled to pieces, relevant problems dealt with and then returned to me - it wasn't cheap, but for the job that they did I was expecting it to have been an awful lot more.

Also gave me a run-down of other things they noted whilst working on the car, timeframe to expect them to become an issue in and also approximate cost to repair.

Really nice chap, I was introduced to him by my usual mechanic who has known him for ever and is happy to vouch for his honesty. Been working in the town for 30 years and knows his way round perfromance cars - I would happily endorse him to anybody.

Can also give you the name of an excellent local bodyshop for paint/repairs, if its needed.

James

He doesn't market himself as an out-and-out Porsche specialist, but he can prepare cars to win cross-continent rallies, he knows Porsches very well and he's reasonably priced. Can't fault him.

Yes, will be along at 6pm in my newly running (and freshly Swissvax'd) motor and should be bringing a potential new recruit as well.
