Just wanted to say what a great guy David Raper the owner of Car Tech and Care (David ctc Raper <car-techandcare@live.com) is and what great service I got from him.

He offered to have a listen to my 944 S2 which was making a knocking sound and after putting it up on the ramp his first diagnosis was bottom balance shaft bearing, I took the car in the following week for him to remove the balance shaft belt and confirm the diagnosis, it turned out not to be the shaft bearing so after informing me he offered to remove the cam cover and inspect the tappets and top end which he did even sending me pictures of his findings and talking me through his final conclusion of worn tappets being loose in the seats. He spent a considerable amount of time diagnosing the fault and I was charged what I thought was a good price considering the amount of time he spent on the car plus cam cover seal.

He then tried very hard to obtain the best price for replacement parts and his quote was very reasonable so I would definately recommend him to anyone in the North Yorkshire area.

Not sure if I will get to the Fins n Chrome event I will probably come along one of the days but just sightseeing with the family. With the usual requirements for family taxi services throughout the weekend I will not be able to show my 944 and the 924S is currently SORN so off the road.
