I got in my car a while ago and the clock had an orange 'half moon' on the bottom half so that I can't see the time. I haven't taken it out yet, but is their a repair or is this just knackered now?

Mine lights up, but has no number display. Not going to take the dash to bits just to get at it. I have a box full of old cycling trip computers - similar size, think one of them would just stick on top of it.

From what I understand the fault with 99% of the clocks is the LCD screen failing. This normally results in a puddle of ink in the bottom half of the screen.

I have made replacement LCDs. There are a few guys in the UK that have used my replacemets I'd be happy to refer you to one if someone needs one. I just sell the parts they rebuild them.
And no you don't have to use the blue. Most are white.

Bingo. And there wasn't a source as Porsche made thier own. So, you had to buy the whole clock.

I started making them and have been sellin these for awhile. I have several guys in the UK and Germany I could referr you to if you need one.

Are you still selling the LCD screens?

If so, how much are they?

I've dismantled mine and just need to try and source a new LCD screen. I'll start with Maplin and see where I end up. If I find a solution I'll let you know because I know it's a common fault and many could benefit.

I would be interested in one of these.

I got a brilliant solution for the 944 clock problem. There are loads to choose from depending on your taste and budget etc.... Personally, Mine is a Seiko divers watch with big luminous hands, I wear it on my left wrist. Also, as a secondary I use the clock display that the radio gives off. Sorted!!!!
