Ian and the guys at PS are reasonable, if you have found it cheaper elsewhere give them the option to quote against it.

Sorry Sean, but on principle I would never buy from the 'we'll match it' brigade. If they can do that why didn't they offer the lower price in the first place - they're still making a profit and giving them the option to re-quote just gives them (this applies to anybody, this is not aimed at Porsche Shop) a second chance to line their pockets.

I always do my research, but will buy from the one who quotes the cheapest price right away - like today when we bought four Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres for the wifes MX5. The guys at Hi-Q quoted £20 per tyre less than the next cheapest lot, who of course said they'd match it.

Also, Aerial Andy only got 5% discount from PS. 5% isn't a discount really - it's just patronising. You can get at least 10% off anybody for anything just for asking.

Cocacola was told that club discount was included in the price - yet they weren't aware that he was a club member until after the quote.

It seems they're not as reasonable as you'd like to think they are.

How to judge a good supplier is how they handle a situation when things go wrong. Porsche Shop definately needs to review its customer complaints policy. They could not give a toss when I compained about a poor quality part that was not fit for purpose. I am now going to be out of pocket, as they will not refund me in full. That was the 1st and last time I will use them.

Also my brother went to use them for the 1st time last week. They told him they would ring him straight back, needless to say he is still waiting for the phone call.

So that is 2 customers they have lost in the last 2 weeks.

Hi :)

Make that three lost customers...

I was about to buy something from them last week and then remembered this thread and their appalling reputation...so bought elsewhere....

So thanks to all that commented here... :)

It does make me have a thought though....

Should Tipec be dealing (discount wise) with them at all ? As they get free publicity (mag) etc...

Oh and my computer company discount for Tipec members is ALWAYS given AFTER the price is quoted....so...price MINUS discount....

All the best Brett :)

Porscheshop are official sponsors of TIPEC and our national event at Gaydon. They support us financially, and receive advertising in the club magazine, on some club banners, and on the homepage of our website.

Hi :)

My discount to Tipec members is usually a minimum of 10% although most of the local members have got up to 60% whenever I can....depending on product...it even applies to French/British owners lol.

I try to sell at trade price to Porsche owners...i.e no profit at all...

And I suspect my Company`s reputation is a little better than PSHOP....

All the best Brett :)

Well, personally I would not want to be associated with a company that offers such poor service?

I have requested a quotation for a number of items in the recent past and as yet am still waiting for an answer.

Whereas I asked for a quote from 944online in the US and after speaking with Ian (944 guy) he said he would post out the items free of charge with the view that I would come back to him if I liked the service. Granted the items were only about £5-8 in total but postage was over $20 and he stuck to his word, I received the items within a week and got an invoice for £0.0 parts and delivery. So I would have no problem using them again.

I've used PS recently, and they did all I asked, including TIPEC discount.
However, if you email them and want an answer - dont !

pick up the phone...

Ive found them expensive, and offer poor customer service.

They charged me £90 for a cat bypass pipe that was £40 on e-bay!
They took allmost 3 months to remberse me for a part i returned to them.
Not on my christmas list.

I have tried both routes emailing them using their ask for a quotation system and ringing them and even with the phone call I got no return call with a price. I have used them a number of times out of necessity more than anything and have never managed to receive any TIPEC discount so I only use them when no one else can get me the part I want quickly.

Reserving judgement until the goods turn up, but so far not impressed with Porscheshop

Ordered some wheels 2 weeks ago, they took payment immediately but since then, not a word. Called them and spoke to a helpful chap who said his system had my telephone number wrong. But my printout of the on-line order shows the number to be correct, so I thnik he had made a mistake.
Contacted them again, the wheels were expected yesterday - still no attempt to contact me with an update.
I think they're a good bunch of people but the sales system they use is rubbish

If the wheels arrive in good condition and fit properly, then Ill be happy.

update - wheels arrived, bit of a surprise as Porscheshop never emailed or rang to tell me they were dispatched.
Fair play to them, the wheels are exactly as requested and in perfect condition

So I guess it's good product, friendly people but rubbish website

i wanted new trim pieces for the rear hatch, porscheshop told me i could not buy them seperatly and would have to spend £500 on a complete rear spoiler kit, repaired the parts myself and repainted them for less than £20
