Post subject: Apology to Jeremy Clarkson

The remote printer email address didn't work nor did the fax number so I'm publishing it here in case he sees it!

Dear Jeremy

Apology

I know that you’re a Northerner. But then I thought, well, it’s Christmas soon, why not be politically correct for a change and be nice to a foreigner.

So, I freely admit I was wrong.

I tried to make out in the Porsche Club GB that you’re a poofter [not of course that we would see anything wrong with that, we even have a leather wear agreement with Porsche].

But this week in the supermarket they put copies of your last book where the milk is supposed to be and I ended up buying one on inexplicable impulse.

Anyway, it made me laugh.

You are clearly far too gay [as in cheerful] to be gay [as in manic depressive / pompous like Stephen Fry / Porsche leather wear / dead].

Ergo, I was wrong.

You can show this to your son – hope it helps!

Yours truly

Roland

PS Why not take on the Porsche brand rather than some of their cars? It would be much easier. My Porsche fountain pen leaked; my Porsche design shaver didn’t cut because most of the cutter teeth fell out; and I use the Porsche T-shirt for the garden because the black faded awfully after a few washes.

Not only would it be easier, you’d be fighting the Germans breaking the Geneva convention on brand warfare and Paul Boorman will send you a Christmas card.

PPS So why do Northerners think rubber-like pork pie is posher than steak and kidney pie ?

No no - you were right. He's an arrogant, ill-informed, lout. His writing is meandering and panders to the lowest form of wit. I'd much rather see Top Gear and the Sunday Times without him.

LOL! I saw the 1st version of that post Roland! :D
Lindsay - you're right, but I'd rather have James May make my case. He's educated, erudite, pensive, and at least he can string a sentance together. Clarkson's a bully who resorts to insults when he can't win an argument, which is most of the time.

I thought it was funny too, but as I was being lynched in 'the other place'

I thought I'd play safe after upsetting a grandee.

PS Jeremy's a real softy at heart, I'm sure he'll agree here.
