I think I have a bit of a problem and I'm hoping someone can get me back on track. I have an 87 928 S4. Whilst investigating an issue with the central locking, now resolved, I removed the strike plate on the passenger door but when I put it back, the lock would not open or close when activated either electronically or manually. Because of this I did not want to close the door as I don't believe it will unlock. To check the operation I looked at the strike plate on the drivers door. This operated as expected, so to check the fitting, I removed the strike plate on the drivers door, then tested the locking mechanism and then put the strike plate back. To my horror this one does not work either now. Again I can't close the door in case it locks and won't open again. The current situation is that I can't sit the doors and therefore am unable to drive it. I'm really hoping someone has an idea of how I can recover from this. |
