Hi all.

Just had a conversation with the Haynes track people. the will let you use the track at the musseum. They have individual prices which are on their website:

http://www.haynesmotormuseum.com/commer ... -hire.html

they also do an unlimited numbers whole day hire for £1060.00

so ten cars would be £ 106 each
15 cars £70

and so on.
is anyone interested? it is one car on circuit at a time, no racing etc but could be a day out with the museum as well?

Anyone?

I'd be up for that & possibly a few other SELNK members as well.

From Website:

Assured Bookings - Date may be booked in advance.
Half Day - £300.00 up to 6 vehicles, £40.00 per additional vehicle
Full Day £400.00 up to 7 vehicles, £50.00 per additional vehicle

From my basic maths, that works out to be about £50 per vehicle regardless...

The Bristol Region has been considering this one for a while. I'm not sure if you've walked the track however it is small. 2nd gear max. That said, I'm sure it would be fun (I only managed 2nd gear up Prescott Hill and that was lots of fun!!). If you want to join up, we would be game and I reckon we would get 6 cars or so without difficulty.

Say next summer?

Must figure out how to sort out signature, etc...

Joining up would be great, i am looking at a day that excluded the le mans trips. Preferably a weekend?

those are the half day full day assured booking prices:

Assured Bookings - Date may be booked in advance.

Half Day - £300.00 up to 6 vehicles, £40.00 per additional vehicle

Full Day £400.00 up to 7 vehicles, £50.00 per additional vehicle

All prices exclude VAT

so you have to add vat as well !

A weekend would be ideal - July is Le Mans Classic month, Aug is busy with TIPEC day, and we're going up Prescott Hill in May... How about June? Or April or Sep?

Aaah, Prescott... Now that you would enjoy (and are more than welcome to attend). I'll dig out the details however, in brief, it's a classic car event organised by a local Rotary Club which involves a drive on the Sat and then at least 2 individual runs up the hill on the Sun - untimed (officially), no safety gear, but you can go as fast as you like/dare. The limit for classic status is 1980 however the organisers make an exception for 'interesting' vehicles which they believe all Porsches are!! We entered 5 cars last year and I think there will be more this year - Central pitched up last year as well (there is an option to be 'Static', which is cheaper, which they opted for).

I'll find out where the entry form lives then post on a separate thread...

...and of course we'll be at the fun day, hopefully with my car sans black smoke this time
