Just had my AA renewal through as it's on DD. Cost is £144 which is roadside & homestart + Complimentary Stay Mobile because I've been with them since 1987.
Just phoned them & they offered 15% discount on TiPEC but then increased that to 20% without me asking so now £115.28

They also offered a yearly breakdown cover for the Pork for £85ish which covers five claims of up to £500 each with £25 excess, this is on a car that's 1987 & 140K! The car has to be garage serviced which mine isn't so I declined but maybe useful for someone out there!

i thougt AA cover was for the person (not their car) so how come they want to charge extra for your "old" car ??

i get AA cover free with my Bank account and they have never questioned what cars we drive or where they are parked.

No I still get covered, what they are offering is a "warranty" on problems with my only non-warranteed car which in my case is the 944.
That's what the quote is for, in other words the 944 breaks, I call out the AA & they can't fix it at the side of the road, they thenpay (some) of the garage bill to fix it.

Me too :D It's Lloyds. Worth it for the world wide travel insurance alone. (AA & mobile phone insurance + other goodies.) £6 a month. Hard to beat. One day they might change it & ask what you drive. But not so far :) Makes a lot of sense with a 22 year old car.

They seem to be happy to cover anything providing it was "properly" maintained e.g. by a garage.

Me three. I've had my Lloyds account for thirteen years already, so the introduction of the AA membership was a nice bonus. It’s only the most basic of cover but for free it’s pretty unbeatable.
