Hi folks,

I'm hoping you can help me find a Boxster owner within striking distance of Derby. I work for Practical Performance Car magazine and we're in need of a Boxster (preferably an early-ish 2.5 or 2.7-litre car, but anything will be considered) for a shoot in a studio near Derby that will illustrate a buying guide in our July issue.

We need to get the car shot quite soon, probably in the week beginning May 5th, and almost certainly during a weekday. Do you know of anyone with a standard-looking Boxster who'd be prepared to give up a morning or afternoon to bring the car along? We'll pay fuel costs and provide a CD of the studio pictures after publication.

I'd also be very grateful for a couple of expert contacts who could help flesh out the important points to think about when looking for a Boxster.

Feel free to forward my details to useful people or give me a ring yourselves if you'd like to know more.

Thanks to Sean Smallman for pointing me in the direction of this post and of course Nigel for setting it up and John for taking the superb pictures.

Watch out for the August edition of Practical Performance Car magazine (out in July). The title of the magazine is a tad ironic - one of their project cars is a 27 litre Merlin engined Rover SD1 :thumbleft:

It's a really good mag. especially the slightly sarcastic car reviews section. This months has an article about stripping loads of weight out of a 928.

I've bought a few, especially in the early days as it replaced the defunct CCC but I found the style of writing & the sloppy proof reading, plus factual mistakes a too much of a pain to be honest. Like most of it's ilk it's one decent article surrounded by dross.

I hadnt seen this mag till someone gave me the March edition and I was pleasantly surprised to see a doublepage article about Adam Jacks 4 year restoration of a 924.Adam came to a couple of our meetings last year and showed us before and during pictures of it. If you saw the pics of the sorry looking car he started off with you would never believe he could have made it as good as it is now.He even had to graft on the roof from an S2 as the original was too far gone.Hes done it in white with Martini decals and it is a credit to his hard work.Well done Adam, that must be the nicest 924 in the world, without exception.Truly stunning!!
