well, I thought I'd better post something in this part of the forum - since I was the last poster back in June last year !
The Turbo is running perfectly;

Over the past month or so I've had a couple of interesting trips out;
firstly in early March I went to the Top Gear test track for a VMax200 event, primarily for Porsche;

Having done a fair bit of track work, going fast in a straight line didn't seem that appealing; until I actually had a go !
it's bloody adictive !

Also got to drive the actual test track a couple of times which was an experience - it looks totally different from what you see (saw...) on TV - I can understand now why that corner really is called the followthrough...

Anyway, the car performed exemplary - I even discovered that it was quicker than a 991GT3... and both of us were using launch control...
Not quite as quick as a 9exx 911 - that thing was bonkers fast

FF onto last weekend...
Vmax200stealth at Bruntingthorpe - 2 mile runway...
things got VERY intersting here...especially as I'd had a little work done on the car since Dunsfold - the car previously ran with a DMS re-map, but I fitted an IPD plenum prior to this event.
There was what you could call an interesting line up of cars...
2 x 918's
3 x Koenigseggs (Agera R, CCR, CCX)
Veyron
3 x huracans
3 x aventadors
2 x Gallardo's (one with 1500bhp..)
Laferrari
P1
Enzo
Ferrari California
2 x GTR
Noble M600
Evora
Aston Vantage
991 GT3
997 GT2FS
991 Turbo S
997 9exx
R8
Maserrati
plus some fast Mercs..
and ME !

The Veyron was comfortably the fastest at 224 MPH
the 9exx and the 918's not that far behind
I managed a verified 198 which was a pure adrenalinbe rush - as was braking to a near standstill from that speed.
The car never missed a beat, and the launch control is brutal - my neck is still hurting.

next step is a service for the car (it's now two years old) and then to DMS for a rolling road tune & a BMC filter.

And as the icing on the cake, the run back to the start line was like doing half a lap at Silverstone !!
Ran over 100miles that day - at less than 10mpg :-)

Really want to do a track day now, as on the paddle shift the car is just so alive - thinking Bedford or Silverstone would suit it well.

When the next Vmax event pops up - I'll be there too !!

Brilliant! That's a hell of a lot of speed for a saloon car!

It was still accelerating too Paul!
Just needs a bit more room ...!!!
Hard to think that you are covering 300ft per second at those speeds
So the probable 5 extra seconds to get to 200 needs another quarter of a mile
Unbelievable car
Was brilliant in the corners on the way back round too.
Love it!

At the dunsfold event there was a slightly modded 996
Hp figures were vague but North of 1500 was suggested
Shame it wasn't at bruntingthorpe
