1983 Porsche 944 Lux 2.5

10 months mot

taxed

163,000 miles

fully refurbished 15" porsche ATS cookie cutter wheels with polished lip and nearly new continental tyres all round

new rear shocks

recent rear discs and pads

cambelt, balance belts and alternator belt were all done early this year

bodywork is in exceptional condition, no dents or scrapes, was resprayed in original porsche saphire about a year ago

rear rollcage (removeable)

interior is very clean and tidy, no rips, all electrics work, did have a few earth issues when o bought it but all have now been replaced

starts and runs very well, gear box is very quiet, used to smoke very slightly on teh overrun after having been sat in traffic for ages but a change to the correct grade oil has sorted this out, the previous owner had done an oil change just before i got it and used far too thinner oil

Im basically selling as i hardly drive it, need something more practical and as i cant fit it in my garage and have careless neighbours its only a matter of time before it gets chipped, scraped, dented or the like by some idiot!

£1500 or will take swap/Part ex for a BMW E30/E34/E36?e38 or E39, Merc 190e or C180/200 or a Audi A4 avant.

That is pretty, if I had the space I'd be tempted!
Whereabouts are you?

That;s a very, very nice car. Like Jim, I'd be tempted if I were in the marketand very reasonably priced for entry into Pork ownership.

Hope it goes to a loving TIPEC home. :)

yes i think the price is fair, im a realist and not into trying to overinflat prices. you see some true shonkers for sale for over 2000 quid. dreamers in my opinion.

Bob on the money for an early dash. Yours is unusually tidy. Roll bar makes classic insurance obligitory but thats a good buy for someone. Surpriced you want somthing more practicle as they don't get much more practicle than a 944. Are Bmws any narrower?
All the best selling that!

J.J

width has nothing to do with it, what ever car i get wont be going in my garage and i dont mind a old bmw/merc picking up a few knocks but the 944 is so clean and straight it would be a shame to get it marked up. plus the rear seats are totally useless in the 944 and i do alot of mountain biking so need something i can stick a roof rack on or bikes in the back.

as for the rollcage........... its not bolted/welded in yet so can be removed in about 30 secs, was only in their for purposes of the pics

My daughter disputes that the rear seats are useless! But I take your point! Don't undertstand why so many garages are so narrow. Only thing yoiu can put in them is a Seicento or fill them with rubbish. :?

Looks good.

But if the cage is not bolted in take it out, The cage will put a lot of people off even looking at it.

Sell the cage separately

FWIW, I have managed to put 2 bikes into the back of my S2 and no they weren't kids bikes. I admit that the wheels had to come off to get them in, but this is the case on most cars IMO. It was semi tight, but nothing moved around, especially with bungee straps to hold the bikes down. I did use a number of rags to keep the car clean and tidy though.

Free bump for a clean looking car.

Car now fixed............ both crank sensors and ignition coil replaced, all good to go!

And yes cage is available, it requires feet welding on so £100 take its away.
