Alright gang - Ive had enough and the project car is up for sale.

The car is a 1985 944 2.5 finished in black. The interior is Porsche script black seats with cream carpet. The car has a sun roof.
MOT expires next February.
The car has just come back from JMG Porsche where i have just forked out £833 for new engine mounts, wheel bearing service and a belt service. Jon Mitchell has supplied a clean bill of health but has advised on a few odds and sods that need doing.
The car is quite original and I bought it in March this year. I bought it as a project, but it is just too much of a project for me. I am a project manager by trade, so dont know the sharp end of a knife. I am having to fork out fortunes to have small jobs done and I just cant sustain it. I guess that i watched too much Wheeler Dealers over xmas and thought that this rolling restoration would be easy.

The car has 59k showing on the speedo, but the car is a square dash, so more likely to be 159k. I have some history for the car and two sets of matching keys.

I have loads of spares for the car which are included in the price.

Pictures on Thursday when i am working from home..

Asking £3750 to claw back my spend to date.

Please PM me with questions. Car is located in Marlborough, Wiltshire.

Thanks

I bought what I thought was a cheap car and spent the same amount again on sorting it out after it had sat for 10 years. Lovely car now but my god are the costs high if spanners aren't your thing.

Defo!

Drive it, fall back in love with it, and learn to use some spanners. Even for some smaller general maintenance jobs will save you a packet and give a little satisfaction. You are probably not going to make any money on the car but get some value back in smiles. All the best.

I don't think prices will ever rise for high milers, may stay at a fair £2.5 - £3.5K but never big money. Sell it while it has a good history and is still in reasonable condition.

Good luck.

Ok, what am i doing wrong?
I want out of this as I really cant afford to keep this now. I am loosing my job and could be without for a while.

£3250? Does that sounds like a fair price?

With respect, if you really want to sell, It's going to be £2500-3000.

Make it look as nice as you can, take some really good photos and stick it on Ebay. Big up any service history, provenance and good points and mention there are minor faults and that viewing is recommended. Don't call it a project car. Set your reserve at £2449, starting bid 99p. List it for 10 days, to include 2 weekends, so it ends on a Sunday around 8PM.

Should sell.
