!!SOLD!!

Afternoon,,

House purchase means I need to sadly give up my addiction to my 944 :( By far one of the best cars I have ever driven & still kicking myself that she needs to go!

I will be running her over to Hillcrest in Nettlebed for the MOT if anyone would like Simon to run an inspection on the car whilst she's on the ramps. Hillcrest will be giving her the usual 6 month check over, but expecting the old girl to have a clean bill of health

Feel free to ask any questions.

I've had a lot of calls and several views but mileage is the sticking point. One viewer even left a £100 deposit for 24hr hold, but still has not been in touch to collect his money. Julian if your reading this your money is still in the cupboard lol...

You were unlucky that it needed a £6k birthday after you bought it. Clearly yours with the work done makes more sense than a lower mileage one that hasn't, but mileage is way more important than maintenance to the uninformed speculator/buyer types.

If its not selling its too expensive and leaving it up on a site like Pistonheads for months will also put people off coming to look at it.

Originality is important and I agree about the wheels.

True IMO, and I'd be inclined to bid an owner in the nuts in that situation.

I have no reason to talk prices down, but if you want to create some interest maybe knock a couple of grand off, be prepared to fend off the silly offers/time wasters though...

As expected she just passed MOT with flying colours & no advisories. No issues found with car whatsoever.

In essence a true reflection of the old girl...

The offers become more silly and if I am honest you end up with more hassle.

Best of luck with the sale Phil. I didn't sell my 951 for this much but I did have offers made at the time by people even on here that would have had me consider breaking the car despite its provenance (£4k 3 years ago ; yes I am not joking). It does make me laugh how people obsess over numbers on a clock.

I think the problem is just what the other options are at that price, for someone who fancies a Porsche but is open-minded on model.

Just looking at 996 (not that I have any interest in them - far from it as a 928 man) I can see a few manual examples with good histories and 50-60,000 miles at that price, and up to 15 years younger. And that's from dealers - who knows what gems could be unearthed from private buyers at that level, let alone what it would buy you if you regarded a Boxster as a truer 944 alternative.

But I'm all for prices of the frontrunners to stay robust!

I loved my 944T and have some regrets over selling it as it was a good one!

However, my neighbour just spent £16k on a really nice Cayman - which illustrates the point above.

Your car looks great and I hope you get a satisfactory offer.

I noticed that 951torqing's old car with 165k miles is now advertised via a dealer at £25k.
