Looking for someone to carry on loving this beautiful 944 Turbo (250BHP model). This car is in fantastic condition, having had thousands spent and many hours of care in the two years of my ownership and before.

Main points:

Guards Red 89/F Turbo, with cream leather interior and Turbo S specification , M030 suspension and 928 S4 brakes.
Fantastic condition inside and out.
80,000 miles only.
Comprehensive FSH (thick file dating back to 1995, including all MOTs)
£1000s spent in last 2 years.
All-new M030 suspension, clutch, rear calipers, brake lines and fuel lines.
No rust at all. Ramp-inspection report: “the best we have seen”
Waxoyled with certificate and pictures.
Always garaged.
Both Porsche keys and alarm fobs present.
Registration F532 YFX (Private plate not part of sale)

The car was owned by the boss of a well-known Porsche specialist for 10 years, who installed a few subtle improvements, retaining all the character and integrity of the factory set-up. I bought the car after a very comprehensive and glowing PPI by Autofarm , which can be sent to interested buyers on request. However, the car is even better now.

The bodywork is in superb condition, as is the interior. The car has never been smoked in, tracked or crashed, nor is any finance owed on her.

The turbocharger is the less laggy K26-6 with an AVC-R boost controller fitted. The AVC-R is highly regarded, gives accurate boost readings (unlike the gauge in the dash) and works better than the standard waste-gate. The car has been very lightly re-mapped and makes about 280BHP, resulting in a less-laggy, slightly quicker car than standard. This has all run reliably for over 10 years.

The steering wheel is an upgrade item that feels great in the hands. A lip spoiler and running-light guards were fitted to improve the front profile. The car has a SIGMA Cat 1 alarm/immobiliser with remote control.

The car has had a new clutch in the past, which is another big job that won’t need doing. I have a summary of all the work done back to 1995 and it’s huge. Everything was carried out to a superb standard and the parts fitted are often considered more reliable than OEM.

During my ownership the car had the following work done at Porsche specialists:
Rebuilt whole M030 suspension, using Koni adjustable inserts, Damper casings sand-blasted and repainted - they look like new,
4-wheel alignment on Hunter machine,
Replaced fuel lines,
Rebuilt rear callipers, disks, pads and lines including hand-brake mechanism,
Brake fluid replaced,
Almost all suspension and ARB bushes replaced,
Underside Waxoyled,
Rebuilt gear-change linkage at gearbox,
Replaced some leaking/perished boost hoses,
Fixed starter motor,
Fixed wipers,
Fixed horn,
RHF Track rod end replaced,
Gearbox and differential oils replaced,
2 Oil services by Porsche specialists,
Lots and lots of little jobs like switches, nozzles, pipes, etc.,
Lots and lots of washing, machine polishing and waxing, which I really enjoy,
Always run on Super Unleaded (Shell V-Power) only, obviously,
Leather cleaned and treated with Gliptone regularly,
Battery maintained by CTEK conditioner. Starts first time every time,
Fitted great-condition D90 wheels and Conti SportContact 2 tyres (5mm+ tread).

With all this maintenance, she drives even better than she looks and has been 100% reliable. The 944 is a great mile-eater and a fine-handling car; this one drives like new and makes every mile enjoyable. The commodious hatch can carry an amazing amount, which means you rarely have to leave it behind. The interior hatch cover and baggage net are still in the car, along with the sunroof bag. The clock still works.

Only two small issues with the car. The passenger’s window switch on the driver’s side is u/s; both windows still work though, as do the switches each side. Fixing this would involve taking the dashboard out, which I felt was OTT. The Air-con was converted to the modern standard some years ago, but the compressor is now leaking. I was going to remove it to lighten the car, but the new owner may wish to repair or replace it.

Being a car-cleaning fan, the car is kept shiny and clean all the time. Only very rarely have I driven this car in the wet (home from National Drive Your Classic to Work day was one!). She is kept in a garage, hooked up to a CTEK battery conditioner. Hopefully you can see the results in the photographs; the paint is swirl-free and kept fully waxed permanently with R222 100% Carnauba. The leather is Gliptone-d every 6 months or so, too.

I’m selling because I have run out of garage space. It’s not an easy decision; I’ll miss this lovely little red pocket rocket. This is a car that really gets under your skin, because everyone loves seeing it. However, I just don’t have the room to keep her under cover. Throw in the appreciation potential of a superb, low-mileage red Turbo and this is a fantastic opportunity for someone.

Buyers will need to show proof of comprehensive insurance and a full driver’s license before a road test. The car is near Exeter, which may be some distance from many of you, but it will definitely be worth the journey! The price is £15,995. Reasonable offers near that will be considered, but I do anticipate a lot of interest in this superb car and am in no rush to sell, so please don’t expect an instant reply to offers. The car will come with Service and Owner's handbooks, 944 brochure seen in pictures, cargo net, sunroof covers, very clean custom floor mats, a year’s MOT and a full tank of Super Unleaded to enjoy on the way home and any inspection is absolutely welcome; I’d like to see if they can find any faults!

Due to total chancer/time-waster from the motor-trade, this car is up for sale again.

Nice waste of a month by that idiot, but hopefully an opportunity for someone with a genuine interest in a lovely car.
