Hi all,
I've been lurking for a few months now, always checking the classifieds whilst saving for an S2.
Last week the car I fell in love with 17 years ago came up for sale but I unfortunately missed out.
I did however manage to convince my wife that I could borrow the money to buy one, so now I have a loan but no car.

I'm looking for an S2 coupe or cab/vert. I'm not scared of doing some work to the car if the price is right, or paying the right ammount for a car thats had the work done.

So, anyone out there thinking of selling ?

I'm based in Essex but I will travel within reason.

Neil

I should probably add that I'm not looking for low mileage £10k car, as much as I'd like one. Something with 100,000 miles or so and a decent history would suit me just fine.

Thanks, I've seen this advertised. I am trying not to be picky but white is my least favoured colour choice.
I've no reasonable explanation as to why either :?:

Must admit a few years ago I didn't like white but after a mate bought a new car in white and I took the p*ss out of him I grew used to it and now think it's OK

Where in the country are you? I'm in Gloucestershire. Mine's not for sale, but I'd happily show you it so you know where to look for the various problem areas. Can also take you for a blast so you know how they're supposed to perform etc. Means that when you go to view one to buy, you'll know exactly what you're looking for and also what you're talking about.

Cheers,
Bryan

Totally unplanned but most of the best cars I've owned over the years have been white, a modified Capri 3.0S, Capri 2.8 Turbo, series 1 Escort RS Turbo, Sierra RS Cosworth and now a 944 Turbo. Buy the best car regardless of it's shade.

Thanks Bryan that's an amazing offer by I think I've got a pretty good handle on what to look for.
I've viewed one already but I lost it to someone with very deep pockets and I have another to view on Saturday, both convertibles.

I think I'd really like a grey or black car but I'm viewing a Guards Red on Saturday.

Starting to get messed around by the seller of Saturday's car. I'd forgotten how annoying buying a car could be

Hi Neil

I know where there's a 968 Sport (manual, coupé) for sale at sensible money, not sure what your budget is?

Blue, 118k.

Message me for details!

Cheers,

Llew

Realistically I'd like to keep to £6k so I have a little money left for emergencies.
If the 968 is available at that price then it won't be around for long.

I'm really hoping to enter Porsche ownership tomorrow....won't sleep tonight!

So the car I'm due to view tomorrow had an advisory on its MOT 2 years ago that the inner sills were slightly corroded.
This isn't mentioned on the next 2 MOT's but the owner for the last 2 years swears there's no rust and he hasn't had any repairs or can he find any evidence that the previous owner had any work done either.
Also it says that there are under trays fitted that obscure some underside components.

Thoughts on this please ?

Good luck with the viewing Neil!

Can you post a link so we can see it? The sills just need to be carefully looked at, MOT stations vary in fussiness, some will make note of even slight surface corrosion, others ignore it. Just check them thoroughly and if they do need work you can use it as a haggling tool.
