I've decided to put my cab up for sale as I've sort of come around to keeping my '84 Lux now that I've invested into the body on it... the S2 Cab is going to need some similar investment in the not too distant future and so I'm going to bite the bullet and sell it rather than sign up for the work.

The details of the car are as follows:

1990 S2 Cabriolet in Tahoe Blue with Linen leather interior and blue power hood with matching blue tonneau cover
    121k miles
Water pump and tensioners changed at last belts change - which was 4 years and 16k miles ago
Uncracked dashboard and all electrics working just fine with the exception of... (can you guess?) ...the clock!

Looks great huh? So why so cheap...? Well there is some work needed, and I've reflected this in the price. The work needed will require remedial TLC in the following areas:

NSR wing in usual place - Porkaparts repair panel supplied with car
NS outer sill in usual place - Porkaparts repair panel supplied with car
OS outer sill has been repaired and painted by PO but on the inner doorstep there is a line of raw weld that for some reason wasn't painted
    The clock doesn't work
The trip-meter is a bit erratic and often sticks at 0.9 miles and requires a reboot... bit annoying actually

We love the Cabriolet, as it's pretty fast, is open topped and looks ace. It has a BRILLIANT heater and so unless it's actually raining the hood goes DOWN! The kids are going to kill me if this sells rather than the early car. I am just really stoked by the progress of the '84 and am finding myself more excited and enthused about that one than the Cabriolet.

Again, like my other car... if this one doesn't sell then it's not the end of the world, because I do genuinely like the car. That said though, my other car is priced to reflect its rarity and condition. This one is priced up as a bit of a steal for someone because I'd rather this one went, saved me the cost of metalwork and paint and gave me the chance to further improve the '84... So where are we at?

Shall we have a deal? To drive away this Porsche 944 S2 Cabriolet...

    Taxed 1st September 2013 for 6 months
    MOT'd until 27th February 2014
Quarter of a tank of Shell V Power to send you on your way

£2,500

That's a sub seven seconds 0-60 cabriolet that will storm on to almost 150 for less than the cost of a Mulberry handbag! If 944s are not the performance bargain of the moment then I don't know what is...

eBay auction finishes on Friday... starting bid of £2,500... anyone fancy nipping in quickly for a deal before the hammer falls? They don't come up often at this price without being an absolute mongrel... :blackeye:

Hullo Bob :)

I've also got the car listed on eBay and the auction finishes on Friday. There's a chap wanting to come on Saturday if it doesn't sell on eBay and that's where we're at.

You're very welcome to come and have a look and a cuppa. I am working from home for the next couple of days and so if you want to come for a look then I'll be around. I'm just in the village of Redbourne between Brigg and Lincoln, postcode DN21.

Many thanks for your interest!

Cheers
/ic

I'm shocked you've not had a bid on ebay on this yet.

Buy it Jim, you know it makes sense rather than the Boxster that will be worth a grand in 10 years time and unwanted like the front engined cars were a year or 2 back.

Sold, and assuming the buyer is on the level... It's going to live in Germany.

Me too... Would be a shame as it's a great and together car.

Nobody stumped up though and the German buyer contacted me before the auction end to discuss by phone. He is looking for a cab and it's cheaper to buy here and take it home than to buy in DE.

If he doesn't complete then it'll be relisted.

He's coming to UK on 24th, picking him up from Grantham and then he's driving it home to Nuremberg. Shall miss it but I have the '84 to keep me amused... and on that note, time to kill my other FS thread and crack on with having the best beige early 944 in the universe

Good news on both counts then, would have thought Newark :?: might be a bit closer than Grantham, suppose it depends what train he's catching
