Maybe but that won't happen. Its the perfect daily and for all its had its fair share of bills it still won't generate the one my 996 is about too. And that's a good, inspected sensible mileage car.....inspections, hmm

Fair enough but I suspect you'll be giving away the KW's, Wortec, steering wheel etc if you sell the car as is. I always keep the stock parts to refit where possible.

This is true, Ii suspect the mileage is what is putting people off. I have seen Turbos and S2s with half of the miles of his car but with the issue of generating far higher bills than David's would (Read lower wings, sills, belts requiring doing soon, other bodywork issues around the car (rust, or accident) sell for half of Dave's price (despite them possibly costing more to fix).

Bump for what looks to be a clean car, and with all of the 'right' bits for a 944 :).

Sorry to say but it's a £4k car in todays market, with £2k worth of extras you wont get anything for with the car. Put it back to standard or take a kicking on the price. :(

I'd buy it for £4k as is, and I don't like red

You may be right but it would break in excess of £4k with ease IMO :). Plus buying a tatty/rotten £2.5k car which is seen as a bargain will soon cost more (you can guess how I found out and my first S2 was not even that bad in comparison to some out there!).

The above applies for any classic car though truth be told.

Cheers all.
The more I use it the more I realise its a cracking car and yes its the mileage stopping people but it only takes one.
Just for the record I've had offers over the figures mentioned here but its worth close to what I'm asking so I'll hold out for now. I still have some interested parties. Fortunately I don't need it gone.
Its not as quick as my Manthey(JZM) tuned 996t mind!

Yeah but with 4wd any noddy can drive a 996TT fast, and they don't feel quick until you are doing silly speeds

A very capable car, I considered one for a weekend toy but decided to stick with the 944 and a new bike.

High mileage means a very different thing regarding an enthusiast owned car compared with a family banger. In your case, it proves that you have maintained this car well enough to still be in excellent condition despite the miles. This is far better than a low mileage old car that has been left to rot. If this was a 10 year old Astra with 200k miles it could imply that all the important bits will break the week after you buy it.

Sort of. Still here and I'm using it daily, not like the miles matter :)
Just sorted a niggly vacuum leak and now it goes even better than ever.

DavidL,

Having just joined the board I am not able to send you a PM. I would like to ask a few questions about the car. Would you mind dropping me some contact details to:

aide.brown (at) gmail.com

Thanks.
