I have not seen the car or know the seller. I received a call from Martin this evening, he sounds genuine enough this could be a bargain for someone.
1983 Porsche 924 2 litre Audi-engine 4-cylinder petrol, 2- door coupe
Registration YNJ 616 Y ( can be checked out)
colour - Zermatt silver / black velour (pinstripe) interior (cloth).
some differences in top panel silver, also dented drivers' door, no rust in dented area, opens/shuts fine, and rear bumper top paint faded.
original car, Porsche logo on lower doors (black), "Malaya Porsche" door runners in black and silver plastic ( top of sills, as you open doors.)
mileage shows 25K, obviously prob. 125K, as odometer stopped: speedo works perfectly, also RPM and all other guages (good oil pressure).
drives very true, no wobbles, good handling.
needs attention to fuel lines ( surface corrosion, best to change them).
requires overhaul, after being stored off the road for a while: had successive MoT's until lost parking place, SORN'd since ( c. 4 years, but driven around the yard OK, and run regularly).
good bodywork (galvanised), worth the effort to give a routine service, oils / filters etc, and tidy up a bit.
has over £9000 date-order service history with it, lots of previous work carried out, much done to maintain this car.
taken to several car shows and well-liked: current owner about seven and a half years. car has factory sunroof (detachable), and all glass and fittings in good condition, considering it's age. 30 years now!!
owner has just a few days grace on parking, then nowhere to go, so offered as a bargain little project car, for spares / repair, suit a Porsche enthusiast, like ourselves. this is my 3rd 924.
offered for these reasons, hopefully within the Independant Porsche Enthusiast's Club, for a quick sale, at around £650-£850, depending on whether delivered or collected from here. the car can be delivered within 20 miles of Gatwick, if required, or collected from Redhill, Surrey.
this whole package, with the service history, could be the start to a very collectable little classic car project, and is well-worthwhile.
This advertisement placed with he goodwill of the Indep. Porsche Enthusiasts Club, and much appreciated.
