Unfortunately I have been forced to place my 944 turbo up for sale as I have been made redundant by my current employer and ironically we have now found the house of our dreams - no pressure on me then
. However, I am not desperate to sell and am happy to store the car as oppose to accepting silly offers. The road fund on this car costs £180/year and the insurance (on classic policy limited to 5k miles) costs me £150/annum via RH specialist cars.
The car is a 1986 944 turbo - so 220bhp with some mild upgrades. I have owned the car for about two years and spent about £4k on it in my ownership. She is HPI clear and is still quite original. The original options sticker in the boot is still present and shows:
C16 - UK specification car.
474 - Bilstien sports shocks.
573 - Air conditioning.
as well as the standard electric mirrors and sports seats etc. The car has had 7 owners from new (not many for a 26 year old car).
The car looks very good finished in Zermatt Silver (launch colour for the 944 turbo in 1985.5). The interior is black sports leather which has some slight wear to the drivers seat bolster, but in very good condition. The car is showing approx. 136k miles, which can be backed up by MOTs.

The car has been looked after by Neil Garner performance engineering and Steve Bull Specialist cars, in my ownership, but is known by Promax motorsport prior. The belts including water pump were changed in summer last year and the car has recently had drilled discs all round fitted, together with the original 16" turbo teledials including the valve supports!! I have also added some spacers to give the car a nicer stance on the road. Tyres are all matching and are Continental Contisport and are N1 rated. I have replaced the exhaust back box with a Dansk Stainless steel unit in the last week. The car has air conditioning, but this does not work. I have not bothered to investigate why. The digital clock has recently been re-built by me using parts imported via Rennlist and is fully functional. The car features a sunroof that is very useful in the summer. The seals (inner and outer) have been replaced by brand new items last week. In my ownership, i have changed the lower wish bone arms with reconditioned items, fitted new radiator and expansion tank, replaced the turbo water pump, replaced cam and balance belts including all associated rollers and tensioners, Bosch battery, Rocker cover gaskets, power steering pipes, clutch pipes. I have also had the gearbox knuckle re-engineered for a nicer gear change - sort of a short shift, for less throw on the gear stick.
The turbo is still very strong and the power delivery is shockingly powerful. The car has a Tial Dual port wastegate, Manual boost controller, Bailey dump valve. I have a set of Authority chips, 3 bar Fuel pressure regulator and lots of spares that will come with the car (if I get the asking price). This will include clear indicator lenses, Vented fibre glass badge panel, rubber seals, original discs, spare luggage roller blind etc.
I have rolling road print outs when the car was running circa 280bhp:
The car has MOT until 15/07/12 and Tax until the end of this month and I would like
£4950 for her including all the spares mentioned. The car is 26 years old, so is not perfect. But is still very usable on a daily basis. As you can see from the pictures, she still presents very well. There is a lever arch folder full of receipts and bills since new and the car is known by several members on this forum. Series 1 944 turbos are rare in this condition.
I will miss this car, as I have invested some serious time and money into her. However, needs must.
I am based in Swindon in Wiltshire and can be contacted via PM on this forum in the first instance.
