I got this from Derek Flnagan, apologies if it posted elsewhere.

Folks,

Some of you may have heard about the annual 'Petrolheads' Spring Cruise for classic and sports cars (it was mentioned at the SE Region January club night). I thought that this was something you may be interested in attending, a fantastic day out and raising money for charity at the same time. The cruise is being sponsored by 911 & Porsche World amongst others.

In aid of the Macmillan Cancer Relief Fund, this years Petrolheads Spring Cruise will be departing from the historic Brooklands race circuit for the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon
on Thursday 10th April 2008. The day will begin at Brooklands with breakfast in the old Clubhouse canteen. The we get to have a look around some of the fabulous vehicles on display in the Campbell/ERA & Jackson building as well as a special viewing in the Sony cinema opening especially for us at the earlier time of 8.00 a.m. Then all the cars group together on the famous banked circuit for a photograph on track before we wend our way off to the Heritage Museum at Gaydon in Warwickshire.

The Heritage Museum has just undergone a major refurbishment together with a host of new exhibits and themed areas as a result of £1.7 million investment, so there will be lots to see and do for everybody. We shall have lunch in the cafe, a look round the Museum and then we do something a little different. We are going to go off-road in a Land Rover on the specially built off-road circuit within the grounds of the Museum and you will experience the ride of a lifetime as skilled professional drivers take you around the hilly (and muddy/wet) terrain.

Finally there will be the traditional award presentations for the 'best' 3 cars of the day - where 3 lucky drivers will return home with a trophy to proudly display.

This year's event will once again be for the benefit of the McMillan Cancer Relief Fund, so you can be assured that whilst you're having fun, you are also raising much needed funds for what is a really worthy cause.

My understanding is that each driver will also receive a 'rally style' plaque - Brooklands - Gaydon.

The cost for the day (to include meals, museum visit and Landrover off-road experience) is £65 per driver and car and a further £35 for each additional passenger.

If anyone is interested, please would they contact Rachel Barnard at rae.b@hotmail.co.uk
