I think some of the SYNN members are doing the Saturday drive. I'll drop Eric a note and find out for you.

Hmmm

Well the Saturday drive out was fantastic fun
It was nice to meet some of the Porsche guys n girls.

I had originally started following a very clean Escort Mexico in my spider but i got bored at never getting out of 2nd or 3rd and went out on my own
It is a bit difficult trying to read instructions whilst driving on your own and that lead to one or two turn arounds :)

So with the run finished we all headed back to Prescott for tea and cakes :D

Now comes the fun part (well i can laugh now)
3 miles out of Prescott and 3 miles away from my hotel in Cheltenham, my car felt a little, hmmm how shall i put it (bouncy) at the back end
I thought it may have been a soft tyre (I wish), so I stopped straight away and had a look around, all seemed fine.
so I pushed down on the ns rear corner, haha, it was resembling a Space Hopper on Red Bull
On closer inspection to the underneath, I found this

Image

Well the problem here is that the bracket attached to the bottom of that shock absorber is part of the rear axle
This was the same on the offside too

Maybe I shouldn't drive it like Markku Alén did in the Abarth rally version

Well I'm a bit pissed off about the car but i'm sure it can be welded back and made stronger than the original
But i'm more pissed for missing todays hill climb and my entry fee and hotel money

That's what happens when you do too much shagging in the back of the car

I hope you get it sorted soon and the bill isn't too big.

I agree!!!! What a great day... The fantastic weather helped however the speed that they got cars up the hill meant that there was plenty of opportunity for extra runs and loads to watch. :D It's a great hill to drive, if you can control the red mist

We'll be back next year!!
