Hi Darron

It was good to meet you yesterday, the pace of the cabby surprised a few people, me included. You drove it very well considering they are a bit soft and tend to flex when being thrown about.

cheers!! i had a great day ,ive already paid for june 28th i enjoyed it that much .
i am unsure as what car to take as i did intend to take my e30 m3 but that cabby did seem to like it and its pace surprised me too esspecially when compared to the more dedicated track stuff that was there.
But it was not my first time at bruntingthorpe and i suppose a bit of knowledge is a help, and must give big thanks to the "centergravity" man who found my perfect tyre pressures for me,it was a good help
thanks also to the chap who gave me a run in his gt3 ,awesome car.
Ihope there is some good footage on the video!!

Anyone know what website the photo's will be posted on that the photographers were taking on the last bend?

Wouldn't mind buying one if they're any good!

Is that lot that were handing the flyers out?

What happened Paul?

Can't really tell from the photo except that you're p****d off. Mechanical breakdown or is that some creasing on the nose or just reflections?

It was just bad luck. I was planning to take the '44 to Brunty and had a lot of work done on the car last Tuesday in readiness:

Cam and balancing belt
Tensioner gear
Front brake disks
Red EBC pads all round
Brake fluid replaced with ATE Super Blue
Braided brake hoses
Swapped wheels & tyres for track day set

Sorted and ready until thursday evening when I hit a pothole the size of a quarry and broke the front anti roll bar. That ruled the '44 out so I charged the battery on the 928 (after a few weeks of inactivity) and figured I would just be gentle around the circuit.
Drove fine down to the circuit and just as I was pulling out onto the track the engine died - identical to the last time this happened some weeks ago.
Spent an hour messing with the MAF seating to no avail so I had to call the AA - much to everyone's amusement

Bad luck with the cars but a great day out :D

Thanks for organising a fantastic day Paul. A real shame about your car/s.

This was the furthest you'd driven it all day:

As for the caption comp, how about "No matter what you say, this is the fastest 968 on a flat-bed"

Great day guys.

The first TIPEC National Track Day was a great success. The organisation of the day was very informal and there was plenty of track time for everyone.

A big thank you to Paul B for persisting with it and making it happen. Unfortunately he has been really unlucky with his cars over the last 24 hours.

Some Clubs would not kick a bloke when he is down fortunately we're not one of them.

So here's a caption competition picture.

yes all 4 wheels are on the flatbed !!
