Hi,
I'll take the slot please. On holiday at the moment and back on Wednesday so will contact you when I'm back. Cheers. Dean.

Hi Dean, I'll look out for message on Wed and let Paul know. Glad that you'll be able to enjoy the day whereas I'd be worried about any little bit of gravel. I must say really disappointed so may still come to watch if I get the car in time for a service beforehand. Cheers.

Another successful day for The Club at Blyton. Lots of 'enthusiastic' driving from certain participants, notably Darron and Chris in the Volksworkshop 996 project car which spent quite a lot of time spinning. Father and son duo, Malcolm and Luke shared their 944 throughout the day and seemed to be enjoying themselves greatly as was Alan in his 968. Last year he was reprimanded for over enthusiasm, this year he was just enthusiastic, managing to cock a front wheel into the air with ease. Simon was out in his 997 gt3, fresh from the Jasmine workshop. He was having to take it steady each time he passed 'Twickers' because the car is a little bit noisy and was exceeding the noise level for the day as it passed the noise meter, ahem.

Tim was there in his jade green 986. The car was fine but his Continental tyres weren't happy and gave up the ghost by mid-afternoon having lost a fair bit of tread on the rears. My own Falken tyres had never been on track before and the fronts worked well with noticeably less understeer than the Bridgstones that I ran last year. The rears however, were rather more oversteery than I was expecting and at Twickers the old 997 was sliding just about as far as my limited talent was happy with. Having switched off the traction control for a bit of 'play time', good sense got the better of me and it stayed firmly 'on' after a few slides too far...

Dean took along his immaculate 964 C4 which circulated with a certain aplomb and Marc was there in his 993 C4, having only ever driven on a track (the Nurburgring) once before. His smooth attitude paid dividends and both he and the 993 were composed on track and making it all look easy. Wayne was out in his 987, no longer wearing 'Captain Slow' number plates: his steering technique much improved from last year and enjoying using the car as its maker intended.

Yeah, cheers all - a crackin' day all round. Is it going to get better, more substantial, coverage in AT this year?

Last year I scribbled a few words and submitted 14 pictures - both 'vehicular' and 'personality/atmosphere' and 7 were used over two pages. For a national event. Last night I posted some of Saturday's pictures in some of the facebook tipec groups and have struggled to get more than one or two 'likes'... I've done the last two Blyton reports for All Torque so someone else can have a go this year if they want. North West region have plenty of pictures available.

Really enjoyed the day and meeting a few new faces. Car coped well, but for some tyre wear, a bit of oil and brake fluid slightly boiling over. I can cope with that! My mate Andrew who came along was surprised just how capable a 944S2 is.

Track was obviously a little busier than last year, but didn't see any Porsches behaving any differently. That Fiesta on the other hand.....

Thanks go to Paul for organising it all and looking forward to hearing what's planned for next year.

Cheers,
Bryan

As the sole representative of the 924 2.0, we were extremely impressed with our car. The grip was incredible and the short twisty circuit really suited the car. I couldn't believe that were often overtaking technically much faster cars! We will definitely be back to Blyton Park.

Thanks to everyone that came along last weekend and helped make it a great day :D

Found out why the car was running so rough on track - got a leak from the fuel rail :(

I know all about those, on my 3rd now but hopefully sorted out why.
I know Glenn had one crack, replacement engine mounts cured his, mine we think was gearbox mounts causing the vibrations

Do bad engine mounts really cause a lot of problems?
