Porsche, Passes and Palaces European Road Trip September 2013

Which includes visits to the Schlumpf and Porsche Museums.

The tour will take in some mountain roads including Stelvio, that we all love so much.

B&B in 3 & 4* Hotels, crossing by Eurotunnel, 6 nights cost £579pp based on 2 sharing. including entry into the museums and castle.

Limited to 15 cars.

15% deposit of £175, secures your place with the balance due 12 weeks before departure.

Route below

Day 1 (Sat 21st) - Early ish crossing then motorway until lunch at Monschau (small, half timbered town), then leisurely cross country drive through Eifel Forest and Moselle Valley to Hotel in Spa town of Bad Durkheim (great restaurants).

Day 2 (Sun 22nd) - 90 min drive to Porsche Museum. All morning and lunch at museum. Afternoon cross country drive through Bavaria to small town of Fussen (where they shot the Great Escape)

Day 3 (Mon 23rd) - 5 min drive to Schloss Neuschwanstein (all morning). Then over Fern Pass (lunch on the pass) into Italy and onto Riva del Garda. (Possibility for an evening circuit around the lake (approx 1 1/2 hours) if anyone is up for it.

Day 4 (Tues 24th) - Great scenic drive through little known Italian mountain roads to Stelvio Pass. Lunch at the pass, time to cross both ways. Onto Chur via Umbrial, Offen & Fluela passes (excellent photo opportunities)

Day 5 (Weds 25th) - Furka pass, Grimselpass & Sustenpass in the morning. Then lunch by a lake and then onto Mulhouse (may need to finish off on motorway depending on time). Hotel in town so opportunity to explore.

Day 6 (Thur 26th) - Schlumpf museum in morning and lunch at museum. Afternoon drive through Alsace to hotel in old monastery on river Moselle.

Day 7 (Fri 27th) - Cross country to Verdun. Lunch, then motorway back to Calais. Opportunity to stop at various WWII sites if group wish.

I think the route looks very good.

Personally, I would not bother with Stelvio as I've been there and done it but obviously it is one of those places a lot of people will want to tick off the list and will draw in the interest levels hopefully. If I go, I will sit in the bar at the top :D

Have to say I'm interested, but need to speak to Kerry, September is pretty busy for us and we are normally only just back from summer hols by then.

That is correct.

We can look at a price for two cars and one room. I would think that there would be an uplift in cost to cover an additional crossing, route guides etc.
