Has anyone taken off their cam covers and inlet manifold and cleaned them? What did you use? I'm taking mine off this week and want them to look new when I put them back on. I'm not going for a whacky american muti colour job, just standard as it came out the factory. Are they powder coated? Any help or ideas would be great. One friend has already mentioned this stuff,

If its a 32 valve it'll be the same as on my old 944S, I took it and had it blasted and powder coated a similar red to the car, about £40 IIRC, they had loadsa colours to choose from as they mainly refurb alloy wheels

Yes 32 valve, so the same as your old cover. I'll track down the best place once they are off the car.

After removing the cam covers to repair the leak, I've painted them using the product above.


And after a good clean and degrease they were painted.

Now I just need to get them to cover these,

And fit this back on,

all with new gaskets and breather hose and before the meeting on Wednesday night, while fitting work in. Hoping to pick up Mike Dowie on the way and see how many 928's we can get in the car park. First time I took mine, it was the only one. Next time there were 2 and last time we had 3. Can you see where this is going?

All the powder coaters up here were too chicken to give it a go, they said they would not stand the heat and peel off. If I wanted a show car and take it everywhere on a transporter then it would be all good? Not what I had planned for the car?

Youv'e made a nice job there, mine was powder coated about 4 years ago and altho' not a daily driver I never had any problems with the coating lifting
