Can anyone shed any light on the rocker switch that is by the headlamp range control and the boot release by the drivers right hand side?
Nothing seems to happen when I flick from left to right.

Hi Stelios :)

There were NO rocker switches ever fitted there...

But....There SHOULD be 3 round control switches..

1. Boot release

2. Headlamp control

3. Front rear fader for original Porsche amp for cd player etc....

Sooo....try flicking it when music is playing....having said that most 928s don't have the original amp any more so could be anything...alarm or immobiliser or maybe if you are lucky and if its an auto it could be a manual kick down bypass switch....

Hope this helps :)

All the best Brett :)

Thanks for the advice Brett. It's definately a factory fitted switch and I shall try out the functions you mentioned next time I use the car.
The radio/cd is not standard and the car is an auto and has a non standard immobiliser fitted.
regards
Stelios

don't know 928 specifics, but does it toggle the electric mirror side to side for adjustment ?

I believe it was part of the original alarm system and was used to disarm the interior sensors if you were leaving the windows slightly open or had left anything/anybody inside whose movement might have triggered the alarm. If you no longer have the original alarm then it will probably do nothing, unless a previous owner has converted it to another use e.g. kickdown override if the car is an auto.

It is a factory fit it in later models, around 1990 onwards, and referred to in handbook.

I think Porsche call it a 'vent' switch. In one position if you leave windows open they will close when you activate remote central locking. In the other position the doors will lock but windows will remain open but doors lock.
