The motor is NLA, and I think Roger's substitute is for left hand drive only, which bizarrely used a smaller motor and enclosure. Still worth checking with him for a RHD solution.

I thought I'd bagged a NOS motor on eBay, but I made mistake and it's the motor for rear aircon for cars with that option!

If there is signs the motor is trying it's well worth opening it and freeing the bearings. They are only plain steel sleeves so a combination of old age lack of lubrication and rust are probably the issue. My experience was the first I noticed was the smell of burnt electrical windings. The rotor was done to a crisp. I eventually bought NOS on eBay in the USA I found the Bosch part number and went on that. Turned out to be identical but a double ended spindle. That was easily sorted. Otherwise I might have been wiser to get scrap fan on eBay but I noticed the brushes were almost worn away so it would have been out of the frying pan into the fire. For my efforts I did end up with anew motor and hopefully that will last. I'm interested in the pSsT fan fix. Does any one have more details please?

If it try’s to turn when you tap it, it just needs stripping down a new set of brushes and a lube

Should be fine after that
