The motor is NLA, and I think Roger's substitute is for left hand drive only, which bizarrely used a smaller motor and enclosure. Still worth checking with him for a RHD solution. I thought I'd bagged a NOS motor on eBay, but I made mistake and it's the motor for rear aircon for cars with that option! |

If there is signs the motor is trying it's well worth opening it and freeing the bearings. They are only plain steel sleeves so a combination of old age lack of lubrication and rust are probably the issue. My experience was the first I noticed was the smell of burnt electrical windings. The rotor was done to a crisp. I eventually bought NOS on eBay in the USA I found the Bosch part number and went on that. Turned out to be identical but a double ended spindle. That was easily sorted. Otherwise I might have been wiser to get scrap fan on eBay but I noticed the brushes were almost worn away so it would have been out of the frying pan into the fire. For my efforts I did end up with anew motor and hopefully that will last. I'm interested in the pSsT fan fix. Does any one have more details please? |
