Hi All :)

While up at Paul Andersons having a couple of small jobs done, we changed my 160/100 H4s for the new CREE LED bulbs...

As you can see in the pics, the difference is TOTALLY amazing...from yellow on the old H4s to stunning white with the new Crees...I got them from Steve Jones (BIZMAN)

My brother Harvey has HIDs on his 928 and these are better and brighter.... highly recommended...

Oh and the preparation for my MIRROR wrap starts end of next week :)

All the best Brett :)

That's certainly an improvement, but I thought that LED replacement bulbs aren't approved for external lights and therefore technically an MOT fail?

Hi :)

I bought my kit from Steve Jones ( bizman928@hotmail.co.uk )

I will direct him to this thread and you can get a kit from him if you wish...by the way I have no financial interest in these, just VERY happy to have them lol :)

Regarding fitting, one Philips screwdriver and about 10 mins a side...very easy ...

All the best Brett :)

Hi All

I am importing these kits after many months searching for the right LED lights for my 928 S4.

These bulbs are a direct replacement for our H4 bulbs and use the standard H4 lens and are fully capable of passing our MOT. Checked with my local MOT station last weekend and they approved them.

The issue with HID's is that they are a Different beam style - they are a defined pencil beam and designed to be used with a clear headlight lens and should be slevelingling. if you use HIDS on a normal car as a replacement they diffractedcted by the lens which causes the light to Scatter and blind oncoming traffic! So they would have to be Auto-slevelingling and have water jets to clean debris off the lens to keep the lens perfectly clear to avoid any light scatter from blinding oncoming traffic.

These New replacement H4 bulbs are ideal also for the 911's with wire harness problems as they are only 30w equivalent output power and they only draw 2.45 Amps! Pretty Amazing.

They give out 2800 Lumens @ 30w on full Beam and 2500 Lumens on Low Beam.
To give a comparison, our standard Halogen bulbs give 980 Lumens on High and 460 Lumens on Low beam!

I am just putting our website together - woodypeck.ipage.com so hope to have them up on there tomorrow.
Price for H4 pair is £79 as a discount for Tipec members. Plus P&P - just mail bizman928@hotmail.co.uk

Paul Anderson can supply these & fit them if you need them fitting.

It would be nice to see a comparison with Nightbreakers, as they are a huge improvement on std bulbs and I only paid £18 for a pair of them from Amazon

Hi Jason
I originally had Phillips Extreme Ultra - which are guaranteed by Phillips to be 30% brighter & better than there nearest rival - Osram NIghtbreaker! These were the best I could get back then - which is why I have been searching for over 12 months to find a more improved set of bulbs.

The photos attached are a comparison of my NEW CREE LED bulbs versus the previous Phillips Extreme Ultra bulbs. The CREE LEDs are capable of throwing light up to 150 metres ahead and you can clearly see the difference on a dark road between the Phillips and the NEW CREE bulbs.

Message me if you need any more information. Woodypeck@outlook.com/bizman928@hotmail.co.uk

Here is a comparison out on the Dark road late at night. YOu can clearly see the difference.

I am taking the 928 down to the Central TIPEC region monthly meeting tomorrow night at the Bulls Head Shenstone so other members can see the difference close up.

These look very good if they are MOT compliant, my CREE LED bike lights are superb.

What sort of costs are they?

Do they do H7 size too as our Subaru uses these?

You're probably a bit too far from our Thames Valley meet next month

Shame as it's a 928 featured car meeting, also a few 924, 944 owners that also have H4's
