Hi all
New guy on the board, a Brit living out in Brunei (SE Asia) and owning a '87 S4 auto for about 5 years. Bought the car as a bit of a "rich man's reject" and have spent way too much time and money getting it back to a daily driver - I guess that sounds familiar to most of you. Engine failed a couple of years ago with a cracked #6 cylinder but i managed to get a replacement out of a wrecked GT. I'm a mechanic by trade so have done the repairs myself, which helps with the overall cost but strains the marriage! Most of the spares are purchased from Roger at 928sRus or 928 International, well known to you all I guess.
I'm currently trying to repair the headlight adjuster mechanism and managed to get new tubing from amazon....now it seems the 'slave cylinders' at the headlight end also leak, and I've spent way too much time on this already :(
In pursuit of 928 perfection...
Cheers
Joe

Hello & welcome, 5 years of ownership! what took you so long to say Hi.
Yes pictures please, is it your daily drive or just a lot of work & money for occasional outings?
Can empathise with the strain on the marriage, my wife just doesn't appreciate the beauty of these glorious machines & of course the drive (I'm of the 4 cyl brigade + BOOST of course  )

I'll sort out some pics. The car is marine blue with black leather and a flip-up wing, pretty standard S4 for the year. 20+ years of deferred maintenance and only 9k miles on the clock, the original owner has an impressive collection of ferraris, 911s, maseratis etc so I guess the S4 didn't excite him for too long!
