i have an S2 in at the mo that won't start either.

factory alarm (928 part number type) i have tried a dme relays to no avail.

i have tried searching internet for bypassing alarm but i can't find definitive answer.

the car does not have any doors on so i can't do the ole lock unlock routine.

this thread was abandoned by Paul240z 5 years ago .

I would suggest you start a fresh thread Woolie .

Tell us a little about the history of your car. When it last ran , what parts have been replaced etc and we'll see what we can do to help

Hi to all the members.
Similar problem on a 1990 S2, RHD.
Was working fine, started okay, switched it off then tried to restart a few minutes later and no joy. Immobiliser fob produces beeps as usual although can no longer remember if the beep sequence is the same ( the car has been immobile for a couple of years now and my memory for beeps isn't that good), turn the key and the fuel pump runs, so assuming DME relay isn't U/S, turn further to start position and there is a "click" from under the bonnet and then nothing. Turn key back then turn to start again and no "click". As far as I know the alarm is a Porsche unit. I have had a similar problem in the past, car refused to start at a petrol station after fuelling but problem resolved after allowing car to sit and think about life for a few minutes, no such luck this time. Any suggestions would be gratefully received. Alarm, immobiliser, fuse.????? If it's the immobiliser can this be bypassed/removed as I'm happy to do without it given that the car never stays anywhere where it can be knicked. Cheers. :?:

mine doesn't have a bleeper, just factory single key. (with button for light).

i have been told that opening and closing the door lock 3 times resets the alarm. i was also told that turning ignition on and off 3 times in succession would reset it, neither of these have worked.

Still need some help here.

Tried locking & unlockng doors 3 times.

Nothing

Rev counter does bounce when you put ignition on.

I bought car as non runner needing oil pump.
I've done oil pump and pressure is sorted.
Previous owner swears blind he had no trouble with car prior to oil pump packing up.

Car is all back together and ready to roll.

really? you may want to change your website text then
" I have been restoring and repairing VW's and Porsches from the same location for over 20 years. Currently breaking all models of Porsche. Service & repair work also undertaken."

so the non runner, starting with the basics, whats missing, fuel or spark?

Thanks for advice (and sarcastic comments) but I've sorted it.

We can't be experts in every model of porsche. I'm not an expert on late model 944 hence me asking for help. As for changing wording on my website, no thanks. I've been here 23 years and prob will be here for another 20 more.

you've hijacked a 5 year old thread of someone else and told us nothing much about the car or what you have tried so why did you expect a good response ?

I suggested last month that you start your own thread and you ignored my advice and my offer of help to troubleshoot your car.

I've got a similar problem with my Turbo not starting, just hunting around for possible answers, this thread seemed pretty promising for the right answer...until the end..lol

Can you at least share how you solved this?
