Looked at Berlyn services web last night and hes doing water pumps for my 2.5 8v for £155 +vat etc. Rang Porscheshop today and they want £195 + vat etc. So having bought most of my spares from Porscheapart I rang him and ___wait for it £320 +vat etc. Thats a bit over the top isnt it ? Anyone know anywhere else to try?

Euro are quoting from £160-£300+vat and exchange depending on new/reconditioned or OEM.

Club members receive a discount from Bert.

I can't think where else to try.

Does it actually need a pump? Or are you changing it because it is belt time? Most change theirs every other belt change.

Thats it Sean .Three years since last belt change and I had read somewhere that it should be changed every second time so although it doesnt need one desperately its about due for changing.Ive found "type 911 " advertising £150 but not sure if thats exchange or what. There seems to be such a variation in price.

Recomended belt change is every 4 years.

Recon or original part, £150 difference between the two gives you a lot to think about.

Yup belts are 48K or 5 years but most reckon 40K & 4 years, with a water pump every other one. Water pumps were
never part of the service schedule but A. mean redoing all the belts again if they fail & B. very often fail just after a belt change because of the increased tension on them.
