just come in from tinkering with 944 and with both doors open accidently pressed the window down switches on drivers door and both windows came down (no key in ignition), thought no more until with pass door closed and drivers open went to close windows and nothing eventually realised both doors open previously and opened pass door and windows work ? so windows only work with pass door open, is this just mine or a legacy from originally being LHD ?

I'm sure it is supposed to work with either door open so that you can close the windows if you forgot to do it before removing the ignition key. I am sure that on my 968 I can open and close the windows from the drivers side. I check next time I'm in the garage.
Does your interior light work when you open the drivers door?

You probably have a dodgy door switch. Mines the same! Drivers door gets more use than the others. Take it out & clean the contacts & it will probably work for awhile. Was finishing the leather in mine in the sunshine. :)

AFAIK it uses the courtesy light circuit as well. Check the light is working with individual doors open. Switches become unpluged with people slaming the doors so worth poping the panel off & checking.

I'm confused too. The window on the passenger side goes down OK from either switch, but sometimes wont go up regardless of which switch is used. On the old Forum site there was a similar post which explained how the n/s interior light switch is involved. At the time I thought interesting, but I wont need that!!!! Anyone remember the item?

A look around the pelican or clarkes garage website could be worthwhile. I'm on a 3G card at Stansted otherwise I'd have a nose.
The window circuit is on a similar level of complexity to the sunroof if I remember!
