Hello to you all just wondering if anyone could give us some information. :?

We are having problems with our headlamps on our 1978 924, when we turn the lights on they rise up as they should and light up as normal however when the headlights are turned off again they go back down (as normal) but they continue to rise and fall. The only way we can stop the headlamps from continually rising and falling is to remove the rubber shroud off the back of the headlamp motor and applying pressure to the knob on top.

Has anyone else experienced this problem? If so your help will be much appreciated.

Thank you, :)

Phil and Mike

Hi
I think the head lights work like the rest posstion on wipers there is a contant feed to the motor that runs through a wheel inside the motor. sound like the feed has shorted out inside the motor so it runs all the time. if this is the case you need a new motor.
A more modern take on it is the motor is controled by a relay. It may of burnt out giveing it a constant feed.
should be one or another.

hope this helps
