Hi all. I am going to be needing new front pads and discs for my S2, soon. Just wondering if anyone has any opinions on the following options on eBay.

Option 1- £147.03 with postage - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PORSCHE-944-S2-BRAKE-PADS-MINTEX-SET-NEW-BOXED_W0QQitemZ180338647310QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item180338647310&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318
The listing is for pads only but further down the page it says "FOR FRONT DISCS ADD £122.36 TO CHECKOUT". I guess I would want them to confirm that price before ordering. Also this listing says "THESE PADS ARE ONLY SUITABLE FOR VEHICLES FITTED WITH ATE BRAKE CALIPERS". What are ATE brake calipers?

Option 2 - £183 with postage - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Brake-discs-pads-front-new-Porsche-944-S2-968_W0QQitemZ200238777633QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM?hash=item200238777633&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14&_trkparms=66%3A2%7C65%3A10%7C39%3A1%7C240%3A1318#ebayphotohosting
Most of the info on the listing is in German so I can't make out muck detail about the pads/discs.

Has anyone got any opinions about either options? Also I would appreciate any other suggestions. Just looking for a decent set of road pads/discs.

Cheers
Mike

Firstly no S2 has ATE callipers they all have 4 pot Brembos. The discs are expensive, I've seen lots of adverts from this chancer on E Bay & all are much more expensive than the standard UK sources. Personally I'd go for discs from Bert at Berlyn http://www.partsforporsche.co.uk/
if you're a TIPEC member you may get discount but the S2 discs are around 50quid or so I believe.

I'd go Sebro discs from Euro Car Parts - OEM discs I believe.

I'd second that. Got the ones for my 968 from ECP (same as S2) and I think they were just under £60 each plus vat.

Yep, ignore the Ebay ripoff merchants and buy OEM parts from a UK supplier like Bert, German & Swedish or EuroCarParts and you'll pay around £160 for both disks and the pads

Bert only sells Sebro now I believe. I think mine are Zimmerman as I bought around 2 years ago before he changed supplier. I run EBC greens on mine as they produce less dust. I think they were circa £ 55 an axle set.
