 Post subject: Could someone tell me what is supposed to go in this hole

I couldn't figure it out on the schematics - can anyone let me know if this should have a bung in it or what it's for?

Its in the left rear quarter panel under my battery tray

It looks like 2 holes in the picture because the quality is poor - its just a reflection, there is only one hole about 5-7mm wide.

I suspect just drain holes or possibly a vent pipe as the battery is in the passenger compartment.

As Jim says. There should be a drain hole, possibly with a bung, in the other side also. Both these areas are known to get wet through the light units and boot hatches if the lights are not 100% sealed (common after all these years) and/or the lock hatch drains get blocked.
