To remove my drivers door on my 944 do I simply unbolt the hinges from the pillar end, unbolt the door check strap and disconnect the wires to the door?
If so 1.where does the wiring disconnect and2.is there anything to be wary of?
I think this may be the best way to replace the hinge pins.
cheers!

Ive taken doors off nearly every car Ive owned but if I remember correctly for the 944 the wiring all connects around the mirror.

I do stand to be corrected though

I removed the door yesterday by unbolting the 4 hinge bolts on the door shut and slid the door off its holders.I hasd to disconnect the wiring 1st and then with brute force, knocked the hinge pins out.
The wear was actually on the plastic inserts that the pins went into so using some hard plastic tubing I made sleeves for the pins.Hopefully these will be as tough as the original sleeves(I hope)
