Hi
The above has gone a bit wonky as follows:
Car: 1985 944 Turbo.
Wastegate: Lindsey Dual Port.
Boost Control: LD Performance EBC.
Plumbed the whole thing up and got ready to try a first run, LD advised on starting as low as possible and build so:
Set duty at 0%.
Set target boost at 0.2bar.
Tick-over boost pressure 0.5bar
Did a couple of runs and recorded 1.62bar then over-boost protection came in and blew at 1.0bar. Very very quick
!!!
Now I'm getting to manufacturers original boost level of 1.7bar (I'll be shooting for 1.8-1.85bar).
That's when the trouble started, very lumpy and stalling, it would rev if coaxed to build rpm.
Drove it home gutted at what had happened! Now I've looked it over I'm aware its now not fuelling right, fuel pressure at tick over 2.0bar where it should be 3.3bar.
Could it be that, the sudden vacuum loss through the 3 port solenoid by over the boost protection circuit stepping in, have caused a failure to the FPR that may have been past its best? They both operate by engine vacuum pressure?
Opinions are welcome
Regards
Steve
